One of the tricks of effective page design is not to use too many pictures together (although I hope that rule doesn't apply when displaying a gallery, like this one). Our eyes are drawn to movement, so too many animations on a page (that isn't a gallery) can be very distracting and cluttered. Another trick that helps a page to look polished is the match one of the key colours in your image with something else on the page, such as bullets or headings.
